Online: Pitching to Get Published

(Please note: class time is 12pm Eastern/9am Pacific/5pm UK)

Back by popular demand!

You’ve got a brilliant idea for an essay or article that you’re sure should be gracing the pages of Vogue or the New York Times. That’s the easy part. Catching a busy editor’s eye can be a lot tougher. Enter the perfect pitch: the first step to seeing your words out there in the world where they belong. This class will provide a hands-on, practical guide to writing pitches that grab an editor's attention and lead to publication.

Topics will include:
• A step-by-step guide and template for writing a pitch that editors will notice.
• Details on how to find outlets and individual editors to send your pitch to.
• Guidance on the process of pitching and getting published, with tips on how to stay organized and focused.

Our session will also include an opportunity to work on a pitch together with live feedback from your peers and the instructor.

Spaces are limited, book your slot here!

I wanted you to know that my latest pitch got picked up by the Association of MBAs - a group of 60,000 readers! Your course was great and it opened my eyes to a whole world I didn’t really know existed. Thanks so much.

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to you for the amazing insight, resources and expertise you provided in the class today!  It was not only helpful but inspiring and motivating as well (I ended up writing a lot today). I really learned a lot of invaluable information in those two hours!

Thanks so much for an awesome and inspiring class. This pitching is beginning to become demystified for me. I’m so new in this publishing world and I’m trying to learn as much as I can. The class is propelling me onward. Thank you!
